I love collaboration. It offers a chance to grow, expand and broaden. Much like yoga. Months ago (my friend and fellow teacher) Jasmine and I were talking about how best to grow as a teacher and share that with others. We share a lot of the same views, goals and passion and we collaborate a lot when it comes to both our personal practice and teachings. Our teaching styles compliment each other and I look forward to when we are able to do this on a regular basis! If you haven't taken a class from Jasmine, RUN, don't walk to her class. Seriously. It will be the most blissful moments you will ever have on your mat. Her attention to both detail and the student goes beyond the academic and roots deep into intuition creating a perfect harmony of skillful practice and mindful practice. As a added bonus, she's one of the funniest people I know with an amazing husband that gets her completely. Ask her about "her hands" (yes, I had to put that in quotes- you'll know why after you ask her).
Since we're on the subject of collaboration, I have an amazing opportunity to collaborate with Innovative Fitness Abbotsford as part of their Healthy Habits Challenge. I love and appreciate the approach they take to lifestyle changes instead of the trendy "diet" word. The collaboration has evolved into a For The Love of Yoga FREE Pop-up class on Sunday February 15 at 10:00am. I'm teaching it in the (formorly Hudson Madison) space next to Wild Orange Spa in Abbotsford. It is open to anyone that would like to come and have some fun! The class will be all levels accessible and you just need a mat. If you don't have one, I always have a few extra with me (additionally, if you have any extra mats or blocks and are coming- please bring them! Sharing is caring!). I look forward to seeing all of you and any friends or family that would like to come are welcome! The excitement and messages I've been receiving all week long have made me so pumped for Sunday! I'm going to see if Jasmine can make it out and share some of her loving with everyone as well.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity that yoga has provided me. Thank you to all of you for keeping it alive! The yoga community strives on the connections we all make with each other and becomes stronger everyday. The principles of Anusara Yoga are simple....two energies (inner awareness and physical manifestation), two spirals (balanced interplay), seven loops (balanced relationship), three focal points (power) and above all The Heart (becoming whole). Om Namah Shivaya Gurave.
