Today was the last of the five Karma classes that I was teaching benefiting Abbotsford Youth Health Centre. I am sad to see it end- this has been the most amazing class to teach each week. Everyone that has come, donated, joined and participated in the class has brought me joy every Sunday! You all have been so amazing! I've focused on various pillars of wellness each week and we ended today with a focus on community, bringing together the knowledge and trust we have built each week. You all were amazing and fearless! You rocked my world!
My husband and I spent the last week in New York City catching up on some much needed R&R....well, maybe just some time away, lol. We had an amazing time and filled each minute with things we loved. I managed to fit in some amazing yoga and was in love with the strong, loving yoga community. Thank you NYC for welcoming me with open arms and showing me that the yoga community is as loving and accepting as I know it can be. One of the days that we were there, we headed out to the Brooklyn Museum to see an exhibit called Killer Heels. It's all about the history of the high heel....this may sound boring to some, but anyone that knows me knows that if I'm not barefoot on my mat, I'm most likely wearing some killer heels myself. The exhibit was unreal and I highly recommend making the journey to Brooklyn to see it. The museum is beautiful and everyone was so friendly. As we walked into the museum, we saw a beautiful bronze statue depicting the eight limbs of yoga. She was absolutely stunning, as you can see. It felt as if it was a sign that I'm on the right path and I don't have to know exactly where it will take me, just that I'm headed in the right direction.
After I got back yesterday, I was able to squeeze in a workshop on Acro Yin at One Yoga For the People in Vancouver. I had an amazing time and can't wait to take some more classes from them! Acro Van City is a talented group that shows you the benefits of partnering up....trust, faith and fun to just name a few. Check them out- it's worth it! You don't need to have any Acro experience to enjoy a class with them, that's part of the fun!
This week I return to my normal teaching schedule, bringing all sorts of unconventional yoga to each class I teach, lol. Make sure to check the current schedule if you can make a class- I would love to see you!
I know I said it before, but you all rocked my world this last month. Thank you thank you thank you!
