Sunday was the 4th Karma Class of the month and we focused on the fun of yoga. Again the room was filled with even more smiling faces! I was so excited to see all of you showing up for one of my fav classes to teach and supporting Abbotsford Youth Health Centre by your donation. Thank you thank you thank you. Since I was "taking flight" that night, we included Bird of Paradise into our practice- you all rocked it! I was so proud! Once again, the energy all of you bring to your mat is amazing, the high fives during class made my day. Unfortunately, this was also the first week I forgot to take a group photo after! Argh!
As many of you know, I have 4 daughters- Caitlyn, Megan, Bailey and Skylar. Each week they have come to class in varying combinations and last Sunday all four were there plus, Cait's longtime love, Derrick (we love this guy)! This was especially special for Skylar, as it was her 12th birthday. Before class she got to enjoy all of us singing Happy Birthday to her while standing on her mat, I managed to snap a quick picture during this sweet moment. A huge thanks goes out to everyone in class for indulging me in this mini celebration! After class, when I realized I forgot to take a picture, Derrick snapped this one just as we're tackling Bird of Paradise as a mini group....hot mess of fun! I think it's hilarious how we are all on different steps of the pose!
After class on Sunday, I headed out to the airport to meet up with my husband in New York City for the week. We're spending the week enjoying this beautiful city and American Thanksgiving with all the trimmings. I love the energy of New York and all that it offers. I tracked down a studio in Greenwich Village last night and took an amazing class, it was exactly what I needed after flying the red eye the night before. Please keep the suggestions of must-go-to studios coming- post them in the comments below! I'll get to as many as I can to get my yoga in.
On another note, just a reminder that Jayne is teaching the 6:00am classes and the 8:00am classes are cancelled for the week. I'll be back just in time for the Karma class next week- I can't wait to see you then!
